The traditional Irish breakfast is a wonder to behold. It's enormous. As Kathy describes it in her global breakfast roundup on Healthy Happy Life,

A proper full Irish breakfast is known as a "fry." Lots of fried meat and even bread. White and black "puddings" are also included. There may also be Irish soda bread, a slightly sweet, white-flour bread that is raised with baking soda, rather than yeast. It is covered in an assortment of raisins.

I like mine with griddled tomato and strong Irish breakfast tea -- but the point is, it's hearty. As Pat at Mille Fiori Favoriti noted, "you don't need to eat again for the rest of the day!"
