Lyza's Ice Cream Birthday!

Hello Everyone! This is my first attempt at a blog post so bear with me! Over the Memorial Day weekend I threw a birthday party for my now 2 year old daughter! The party theme was Ice Cream! It was so much fun to plan, so I’m sharing my party with you and will have some more details how to blogs in the weeks to come!

So, I think invites should always match the party theme so the guests know what to expect!  I found these awesome no melt pop invites by Martha Stewart. Now, her directions were great but her tools and materials list were less than helpful....

MY list of Tools and Materials!

  •     Glassine Envelopes
  •     Self Adhesive Paper
  •     White, Light Pink, Dark Pink Vellum paper
  •     Jumbo Craft Sticks
  •     Spray Adhesive

Here they are! Love!

What’s an ice cream party without an Ice Cream Bar?! I wanted to give the guests options so I got regular cones, sugar cones, and foam cups. I ordered 15 sundae dishes from Sur la Table for 60$ during their free shipping deal. You could also go to the dollar tree and get plastic sundae dishes for like a dollar each to cut your price down. They were perfect to put all the toppings in but I also put shredded cheese and onion in a couple of the sundae dishes and put on the food table to include the theme there as well!

I also made Rice Krispie treats to look like ice cream cones, Brownie Pops, Cut out cookies, Cupcakes and cake in ice cream cones! Soo much fun!!

I made an Ice Cream Cone Garland to decorate the dessert table! This was pretty time consuming but so very worth it!  I added some tissue paper in the cones to add a pop of color and fun!

As always, the birthday girl has to dress to match the theme! My friend, Ashley, has a page on facebook called Sweet Pea Bowtique and she made a tutu, hair pieces, and shirts for both my girls! She even made a bow for me!

It was such a fun day! A little chilly, but nice! The birthday girl had a blast and definitely had a sugar high!

Thanks for visiting my very first blog post!! Come back soon for some how to posts for some of the dessert and the ice cream cone garland!
