My name is Genevieve and I am a wife and a mother who loves to cook. To me there is no bette way to show your love than cooking. My love affair with food started late in life. My grandma Joyce was always the one who prepared everything for every family dinner and never wanted any help. My mom, well let's just say she is a much better baker than she is cook.
About ten years ago I discovered the Food Network. I remember sitting on the floor playing with my newborn daughter when Emeril sucked me in with this recipe of sausage, fennel seeds, crushing tomatoes by hand, red onions, garlice, pasta, BAM! That was all it took for me to fall head over heels in love with food. I quickly got online printed off the recipe and dreamt about cooking this delicious meal the following Sunday night. (Pasta dishes were a MUST on Sunday nights devoured while watching The Sopranos). Now I could make a dish from scratch and not a jar and totally impress my husband. The following weekend we sat in front of the TV and the house smelled amazing and the dish was "to die for". I started watching other shows, 30 Minute Meals, Every Day Italian, The Barefoot Contessa, I couldn't get enough. This was before the DVR so I could only watch these shows on the weekends. My Saturdays were spent in front of the tv trying to absorb the knowledge being bestowed upon me by my new Best Friends!
Over the past ten years there have been plenty of hits, plenty misses, lots of burnt dishes, quite a few successes and lots of love poured into every dish. I hope thru this blog, I can connect with other women who share a passion for cooking, and we can continue to grow and learn from each other.
