Suppose your best friend is one of those food-obsessed people who love to try making things like Dukkah, Za'atar, or Ras el Hanout. You, on the other hand, are someone who thinks sea salt is highly exotic. You'd like to give your friend some type of appropriately food-themed gift, but haven't a clue about what will be appreciated by a serious foodie. Luckily for anyone with this dilemma, food bloggers are busy this time of year with holiday gift guides for just about every food-related gift you can imagine. I'm going to share some holiday gift guides I've spotted, but truly the season for writing them is just getting started. If you're a food blogger with a gift guide that doesn't get included here, or if you spot one on another blog, please share that link with us in the comments.
One of the most comprehensive food-themed gift guides I've seen is at Baking and Books, where Ari's Holiday Gift Guide includes recipes for handmade food gifts as well as foodie gift ideas from around the web.
The Cowboy's Wife presents My Wooden Spoon's 2008 Holiday Gift Guide, which has categories for different types of food-themed gifts.
At The Perfect Pantry, Lydia is doing an eight part series on holiday gifts. She hasn't posted them all yet, but so far two of my favorites are Gifts for Kids Who Love to Cook (featuring a very cute kid) and Books for Cooks. I'm also waiting anxiously to see what Lydia recommends for Gifts of Food, which is coming on Tuesday.
Nic gives recommendations for Holiday Gifts for Bakers at Baking Bites, and when it comes to baking tools, she knows what she's talking about.
There are more baking gift ideas at Dessert First, where Anita has posted A Sweet Little Holiday Gift Guide.
Finally, at Serious Eats, Alaina spotlights Gifts for Bacon Lovers which include everything from bacon soap to Bacon of the Month clubs.
Kalyn Denny writes about food and at BlogHer.com and shares her passion for cooking at Kalyn's Kitchen.
