I just heard that there is going to be a Celiac Disease Foundation Conference and Gluten-Free Expo in Pasadena, CA at the Pasadena Convention Center. It will take place on June 7-8. They aren't open very long, so check the hours if you are interested in attending. Maybe they will extend the hours as they get closer to the date. They are still accepting exhibitors.
I have never been to a GF Expo and I am hoping to attend this event. I discovered that I am gluten sensitive over a year ago and am still learning about it. It's great when I find new things that I can eat.
I just went to Confexion Cupcakes in Pasadena yesterday and got the family gluten-free cupcakes for my husband's birthday. I didn't know they could make GF birthday cakes. They need a 48 hour notice, though, but it's great that they have that option.
Their cupcakes are delicious. We had tiramisu. The lady there gave me a calendar that lists the cupcakes they make daily. They have a different GF cupcake every day and all of the brownies listed in the pink bar on the calendar are GF. The downside is that they only have one GF flavor per day unless it's a special day where they have other choices.
It's a very small shop in a small street off the main street that is Fair Oaks. It's near the corner of Fair Oaks and Dayton.
I think they won an award on the TV show Cupcake Wars, so that goes to show you how good their cupcakes are. They have a small freezer that has a few cartons of gelato, but I think I saw only one flavor.
The cupcakes I bought were $3.50 each. It's the second time I've been there and I do plan on going back again. The people working there were very nice, too.
Parking is on the street which can be hard to find sometimes and it's metered parking.
I told them about the GF Expo and they sounded interested in it. I hope they will sign up as a vendor so we can sample their goodies!
