The inspiration for this delightful quick bread came from Eat, Live, Run after she posted this recipe. I used half whole wheat flour and half all-purpose and substituted almonds instead of pecans. Almond Tea Bread
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
3/4 cup almonds, chopped
1 beaten egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9″ loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Add the beaten egg, honey, and milk. Mix well. Fold in the almonds.
Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes or until golden (stick a knife in the center to make sure it comes out clean).
Let cool and serve with lots of butter!
