4 Tips for a Fun & Festive Gluten-Free Gathering
Keep the menu simple with naturally gluten-free foods. Everyone enjoys dips like hummus, guacamole and salsa. Pair these quick fix apps with a beautiful bowl of great tasting gluten-free tortilla crisps like Xochitl organic chips.
For smaller get-togethers, serve dips in individual bowls like these small Ruffle bowls, my current favorite appetizer bowl.
Add food elements that balance one another in terms of macronutrients – healthy fats (for example, avocado), protein options (plant or animal based) and complex carbohydrates (like a fresh cut veggie tray or fresh fruit salad).
Homemade hummus is a terrific way to add a bit of plant-based protein to the menu.
While cocktails are great to offer, always be sure to offer non-alcoholic options, too. Sparkling water like Perrier or San Pellegrino are terrific to have on hand, and they’re versatile, too. Some guests will enjoy them “as-is” and others can use them to brighten up an alcoholic cocktail or for making a wine spritzer.
