I'm on time (and actually a tad early) for once! Let me tell you about what I did this weekend.
Like I mentioned before, our power went out on Friday just about when I got home from work. It was hot, oppressively so! And you don't realize all the stuff you have that needs electricity until your power goes out. I was kind of a whiney brat about it. Anywho, I decided to head over to the library by our place and it was beautifully cool in there. But they close at 5:00 on Friday and it was 4:45. Uh-oh! So I called Jenny and she saved me and had me over for a little bit and a Wife Swap episode. Kevin came home a little later and let me know the power was back on, so we were able to relax and decided to have dinner at a bar/restaurant called Tuman's. Kev got the chicken tarragon salad and I got chicken fingers. Tasty, but not super impressive for either, but I had been wanting to try Tuman's. And it's definitely a good place to stop by for a beer.
On Saturday Kevin and I went to spin class and then headed to the Sox game to tailgate with friends. And thankfully the weather had cooled off and it was quite pleasant! We picked up Italian subs at Bari, some snacks and beer and headed over to Comiskey (I will never call it U.S. Cellular) Park. Tailgating was awesome and the Sox won. Even a Northsider like myself was happy. Here are some photos:Some folks from La Preferida gave us these sweet coozies
This sign is funny even though it makes fun of my team, the Cubs
Today has been a lazy Sunday for us. Slept in, went for a short run and did some laundry. Kevin cooked an awesome pasta dinner and now we are watching Blades of Glory. Stupid but super funny movie. And then tomorrow we will be back at it again with a full work week.
