I had this plan great plan to write about A-Rod when he got caught doing steroids. Then Pat Summitt got her 1000th win, then the next week Shahar Pe'er was not granted a visa into The United Arab Emirates so she was forced to miss the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships and Brett Favre decided to call it quits again.
Now I have a chance to write about Alex Rodriguez, the highest paid player in Major League Baseball, testing positive for steroids and it is old news. I don't mean to suggest that baseball players doing performance enhancing drugs was new news a month ago but that this is the problem with only being able to write about sports once a week. Now the A-Rod news is all about his hip surgery, or lack thereof. (Karma?)
I know the saying is that "no news is good news" but I beg to differ. This week has been full of sports news, both good and bad.
The Davis Cup started.
50 year old Mark Martin got the pole position at the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
And that isn't even mentioning Charles Barkley, Michael Vick, Marshawn Lynch or any of the other athletes that are in trouble with the law this week.
Huh. I guess I just did mention it. Oops.
Just one more thing - today is Shaquille O'Neal's 37th birthday. Happy birthday Shaq!
