A Tragedy In Boston

A Tragedy In Boston

City of Boston
During the Boston Marathon - a day that is filled with so much hope, accomplishment and celebration - two bombs exploded within minutes of each other close to the finish line.  These bombs have so far killed three people, one of them an 8 year old boy, and severely wounded many more.
As I sit down to write this, my thoughts are a jumbled mess.  I'm not quite sure how to express what it is that I want to say.  I just don't have it in me today to write with my normal spunk and enthusiasm when so many innocent lives have been affected by something so awful.
People train for years for this day.  Runners, families, friends and fans travel to the city to watch and experience dreams coming alive.  And on April 15, 2013, also known as Patriots Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, happiness and joy were ripped away from all of these innocent people.
I don't understand hate.  Why anybody would want to mar the beauty of life and fill it with so much darkness and despair is unbeknownst to me.
As someone who has spent the majority of my life living and working in and around the City of Boston, I have the utmost pride and respect for this city.  Please stand with me in support of the City of Boston, and please pray for all of those whose lives have been affected on this disastrous day.
And please, please, remember to always hold dear the things that are precious to you, because you never know when they might be taken away.
