Top Eight Ideas For The Best St. Patrick’s Day Party

Are you ready for a good St. Patrick’s Day Party? Ready for green beer and shamrocks galore? I am. I am not Irish, but I love a good Irish blessing and a good Irish themed party. I enjoy the holiday so much until I thought it best that I learn a little of the history behind the celebrations and observance of the special day. What I found was that although St. Patrick’s Day celebrations have evolved into parties and fun, it all began with the observance of the death of St. Patrick. St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. What began as a religious feast day in the 17th century has evolved into a variety of festivals across the globe celebrating Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, and a whole lot of green.

Then there is the legend of the leprechaun. The most exciting. Do you remember the scary Leprechaun movies? I know, I am dating myself but when I first saw them, I could not sleep at night. However, I now know that the leprechaun is actually a fairy in Irish folklore. They are said to be solitary creatures who spend their time making and mending shoes and they have this elusive pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Just know that if you are ever lucky enough to catch a leprechaun, he will generously grant you three wishes in exchange for his freedom. So keep your eyes peeled. So that’s your history lesson, but I have invited my blogging-buddy, Isadora Guidoni, to give us some excellent tips for hosting a festive and fun St. Patrick’s Day party. The dishes are magically delicious. Enjoy…take it away Isadora.
