It's night and I am driving.

Leaving behind the whirlwind of the day.

Eyes cautiously scan the road ahead.

My grip tightens on the wheel as the world outside blurs and fades behind me.

Replaying, reexamining, repeating, repeating, repeating, repeating....

Strange shadows blend into the line of trees just beyond the road, anxiety rises.

Where am I going?

I am energy cutting through the night and it feels good.

A restless soul reaching out for a sympathetic ear.

Emotions are high, confusion sets in, streets wind and turn back in on themselves.

I take refuge under the bright white light of a street lamp.

Longing fills the interior of the car.

My mind content to stay in this state. My soul knows better.

Do you want to run away from home?

Yes I say, but not really.

I push it all back down, I drive.

I need to go home. I want to go home.

Longing seeps out of the windows and into the night air.

I drive back down the dark road, past the shadows until the large houses come into view.

I pass each house in search for my own.

Love is waiting there. I know I am home and it feels good.
