RNC police action against protesters looks to be a LOT different from that at DNC.

Federal agents of all sorts are helping local cops in St. Paul Minneapolis raid homes, kitchens and convergence centers. Okay, there are anarchists in the twin city areas. Whoop de doo. There are anarchists everywhere. Mainstream folks don't realize it as no national media covers it at all, but at times over the last few years I've had opportunity to interact with
anarchists, communists, Food Not Bombs, and a host of other political and social justice groups in convergence centers with CODEPINK Women for Peace. There are lots of alternative views to those reinforced by the national "news" corporations. Most of the free countries in the world have at least 5 major political parties. We do too, only the ones beyond the Dems and Repubs are always presented as a Candidate and not a party when they do get media coverage. Green, Libertarian, Socialist parties have been around under various titles for decades and decades.

I have to tell you, it bothers me when any political belief is viewed as illegal in and of itself. Anarchism is not about violence. That is how it is painted, but it just isn't true. I know some very sane and peaceful folks who simply believe in individual rights and responsibilities to the nth degree.

Food Not Bombs feeds people in public without a license. Don't think of fish and loaves whatever you do. (The next pitch in potluck you have could be just as easily busted if the police decide you are feeding the wrong people.) Now I will admit that I have been extremely annoyed with some testosterone heavy black clad folks, youth mainly, because they are a bit too quick to provoke and to be provoked according to my tastes, but like all other groups, if you look for commonality with individuals within these groups you will find it. Intention is everything, but intention is extremely difficult to discern and I would suspect that the agencies within the government who have been the hands of the Bush Administration are overextending their reach now in St. Paul as they have done for the last 7 years.

All I am really saying here is that there are multiple perspectives of situation (check out Rashomon) and before we begin to discuss the violence that looks like it may be coming to the RNC, please, let's look at multiple perspectives on the events - multiple sources if they all come from the same perspective do not inform but rather only reinforce. For alternative views, consider using some of these alternative media sources.
