They're back!!! Heidi, Tim, Zac and Nina returns in the thirteenth season of Project Runway on Lifetime. The first hour of PR, showcased the Designers before they were officially picked. We got to see some fascinating, unique and some...different styles of designs.
And what was really cool, is that one the panels, whom the Designers auditioned in front of, many of them were former contestants and designers that auditioned for Project Runway in the past. Project Runway season 10 winner Dmitry was one of the designers that sat on the panel and Project Runway All Stars winners, Mondo and Anthony Ryan, also sat on the panel. And of course, Tim Gunn!
And keeping in tune with last season's social media interaction, the fans had the chance to pick from three designers from previous seasons, to join this season's designers in the competition. Ken from season 12, Alexander from season 12 and Amanda from season 11. And after all of the designers were chosen and set up in the workroom, they'd find out who'd be returning to the competition.
After all of the designers were chosen, they had one more challenge that had to face. They had to showcase their collections to the Main Panel. AKA. Heidi Klum, Designer Zac Posen and Creative Director Nina Garcia. From the Eighteen designers, the panel would pick fifteen, to go on and compete. Three were eliminated and thus, the fifteen designers were picked. Season 13 has officially started.
Once th designers were introduced by Tim Gunn to the new workroom, then it was then time to reveal the returning designer. Tim told them about the fans' choice and how a returning designer would be in the competition. Then, the doors opened and in walked...Amanda! And I am really glad about that.
Reason why, I have nothing against Alexander. But, Ken was crazyon season 12. He couldn't stop cussing and arguing with people. He was way too aggressive and over the top. So, I'm glad that Amanda came back. Their first challenge was for them to create a spring inspired look, based out off of fabrics that were in a trunk, sitting on their stations.
Some of incredible looks were created and some were very interesting. To say the lease. There are clearly a variety of different aesthetics represented in this competition.
And the guest judge was Emmy-winner and Modern Family star Julie Bowen. She was funny and really brought her charm to the panel.
Altogether it was great and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.
