The Mitt we know - @BethLindstrom

Last week I traveled to Philadelphia to attend a Women for Mitt Event with Renee Fry, former Secretary of Economic Development for Mitt Romney and also U. S. Senator Kelly Ayotte.   Our purpose was to talk about our stories of the man we know and believe should be our next president.  There were over 300 women in the room at a King of Prussia and it was great to talk about the man I worked for.  My stories included how he told me that “family came first” and as working mother that was so important.  How many bosses tell you that your family is important, but then don’t support you when you need to work from home because your child is sick.

I was there to also tell these women that Mitt is one of the smartest men I know and he we hit the ground running on day one to solve the fiscal problems in Mass, when there was a 3 billion dollar deficit.   Immediately after coming into office we had a cabinet meeting where he talked about his management style.  He said that “we would make mistakes, but they would be our mistakes.”   He wanted us to be bold enough to try new things, learn from our mistakes, and keep trying to improve.

This was not a Governor who wanted to protect the status quo.  He embraced a process that would lead to a better way of doing things for his state.

What was motivating at this event, was the number of woman who came up to us afterward and told us that we need to share these stories. They don’t hear about this from any of the news media.  We need to tell our stories.  I witnessed time after time when women met the Governor, they always came out of the meeting with gratitude and remarking “what a nice guy” he was.

Women care about the economy and that is the issue we need a proven leader to fix.  Look for more here in this space and share with others because we need Mitt to win in November.   – Beth Lindstrom former Secretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation for Governor Romney   @bethlindstrom
