I LOVE Oprah and always will, but I gotta admit I was one of those wondering what on earth she was doing interviewing the Kardashian Family. They're overexposed as it is, I hardly think there's anything else we really need to know about them.
Well, Oprah took to OWN's official Facebook page to answer the million dollar question that all inquiring minds, including me, wanted to know!!! WHY THE KARDASHIANS?!
“OK, my friends, I had the longest interviewing session I can ever recall, talking to ALLLLLLLL the Kardashians,” wrote Oprah. “I had never met them, nor seen the show. I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season. I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them?” ”GOT IT” … those answers +more,” she added.” Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty. Who surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.”
Oprah also added that Kim, the Kardashian who put them all on the map with her sextape with Ray J, responded to the question about her short-lived, 72-day marriage.
"Everyone who's asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me."
Whether you hate them or love them, the Kardashians are one of THE hottest families on the scene right now. They're always in your face and keep themselves relevant through their show, media and Kim's week long relationships. No matter how they climbed to the top, literally, they are on top right now and doesn't look like they'll be going any where any time. Hell, we've all got secrets they're just not aired publicly for the entire world to see.
So why have the Kardashians become such a cultural phenomenon? What brought Kim's 72 day marriage to an end? If you missed the interview, you can view the clips on Oprah's Next Chapter to find out.
