I love TV.

I love TV.

In fact, when someone tells me, "Oh, I don't have a TV," I'm mildly annoyed.

Because to me, telling me you don't have a TV translates to -but I spend all day and night on the internet...probably on Hulu.

Just get a TV like every other normalish person already so I can talk about all my favorite shows with you in a timely manner!

No, there is no one person I'm referring to because I've had this conversation with various people in various settings.

Anyway, I'm probably all hopped on coffee and TV because I didn't watch much TV growing up. Well, relative to my friends, I guess. My mom was kind of crunchy and limited our TV watching time and we rarely had cable. Instead, we were outside climbing trees and doing art projects and lame things like that.

So ever since becoming an adult paying for my own cable TV, I've overcompensated for my lack of popular TV indoctrination.

I'm kind of a TV junkie. I don't watch all day. I mean I've got things to do and kids to yell at. But I get good use of my DVR. I think right now it might have 1% space available. That's pretty normal.

To me, TV is a cultural movement. It's a discussion point. It's common ground. Maybe I don't know you. But we both watch The Real Housewives of Orange County and now we can be best friends.

It's also a bonding entity in our home. If any of you have a teenager, you know it can be challenging to find things in common without pulling teeth. We have what we call "Good TV Night," which happens to be Wednesday. As a family we watch The Middle and Modern Family. We do this every week.

Speaking of my teenager, mine introduced me to Walking Dead. Now I'm hooked. And that's "our" show we watch together.

Okay, so you get it, I love TV!

So, what?

Well, I plan to incorporate that into Momma Candy!

In fact, I'll be blogging weekly about this season's The Bachelor and you can find me on our local morning show, Tucson Morning Blend gossiping all about the craziness that ensues! So all you Bachelor fans, get ready!

Other shows I might blather on about include Portlandia, Nashville, Happy Endings, The Shahs of Sunset, Catfish, and, as mentioned, I have a serious addiction to Walking Dead (It's not really about zombies, ya'll, it's about society and stuff).

I also might mention a time or two Sister Wives, Mob Wives, The Real Housewives of every city and county, and pretty much any show ending in "wives."

So get with the program and watch some TV shows! Like real TV shows on a real TV and not a computer like the rest of us lazy Americans.
