Tomorrow is the day Vampire Academy fans! The power is going to be in your hands to bring to life the sequel, Frostbite! The producers of the film released a little tease of the script today in preparation/to get people excited for tomorrow's campaign and it seems to have worked wonders (it's a amazing what a little Adrian can do for the fans!)
Also tomorrow, fans are wanting to trend the following on twitter #SupportFrostbiteOnIndieGoGo To trend you need to have a twitter account (it is free to join) and DO NOT re-tweet messages with the trend but write your own new message with the trend #SupportFrostbiteOnIndieGoGo (re-tweeting does not work towards a trend). Now the VAFamily has trended in the past and I feel like the fandom is alive and ready for action, so go online tomorrow and trend people!
Next up I want to talk a little about IndieGoGo and contributing to them. Now I have never contributed to anything on IndieGoGo, I have always stuck with Kickstarter and know exactly how that works. I know I previously said that they do not take money out of your account right away but I was corrected and IndieGoGo actually does take the money out of your account right away. With their website, if the campaign fails, they instead issue a refund to your card/paypal account that will post in 5 days. The next question that is being asked is, can you continue to add money to your contribution, I am waiting for a more detailed answer on this question from them (I sent an email) but I did find this:
Every contribution is processed individually. If you have already made your contribution and would like to adjust your perk, please contact the campaign owner. If your preferred perk requires a higher contribution, the campaign owner may allow you to contribute the difference in perk amounts and simply keep track of your preferred perk. What are perks?
Many campaigns offer perks in exchange for different contribution amounts. Perks can be objects, acknowledgement, a thank you, services, events or anything that does not violate our Terms of Service.
Perks are listed on the right side of the Campaign Home page, under the Contribute Now button. If you do not see any perks listed, the campaign owner may have decided not to offer any perks. You will need to contribute at least the amount listed to claim the associated perk. Perks are offers made and managed solely by campaign owners.How do I claim a perk?
Click on the Contribute Now button on any active campaign page to provide your contribution details and select your perk. If you see a particular perk on the campaign page that you're interested in, you can also click on the Claim This Perk button to pre-select your perk and continue with the contribution check out process.When will I receive my perk?
Receiving your perk(s) often takes time! Selecting a perk as a part of your contribution is not the same thing as buying something online. Perks may require much more than just money to develop, manufacture and distribute. Each contribution made is recorded as a separate contribution with a separate perk. If you would like to receive a new perk, you can do this in a separate contribution. Campaigns, including Perks, are created and managed solely by the campaign owner. If you have any questions or concerns about a particular campaign, we recommend that you get in touch with the campaign owner directly. You can post a comment to the campaign page, or you can send a direct message to the campaign owner if you have contributed to the campaign:
HOW TO POST A COMMENT:
- Log in your Indiegogo account
Go to the Campaign Home page
Click on the Comments tab, type in your comment and click Add a Comment
If you would like to keep the comment private so that only the campaign owner can see it, click the box that says, “keep private” before adding a comment.
HOW TO SEND A DIRECT MESSAGE:
You will only be able to send a direct message to the campaign owner if you have contributed to their campaign or are on the same campaign team. To send a direct message:
- Log in your Indiegogo account
Go to the Campaign Home page
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the name of the campaign owner (beneath "Created By" or the first name beneath “Team on This Campaign”)
Click on the campaign owner’s name to visit their Personal Profile
To the right of their username, click on "CONTACT USER".Please note: If you have an Indiegogo account, but are not a contributor or member of the campaign team, you will only be able to post a private comment on the campaign page. You won't be able to send a direct message.
I know that this is a lot of information to take in and people will have more questions but honestly don't get discouraged. Contributing to any campaign is worth it and you will get the perks that you contribute to and things will go smoothly! So please just read the information, remember that you can continue to contribute money as the compaign goes on and even choose different perks to go with the ones you've already choosen. So no worries VAFamily, the campaign is going to work and going to be seamless! International fans are able to contribute as well and be eligible for the perks that are being provided as well. Get ready everyone, the campaign starts tomorrow and remember this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon! If the campaign doesn't cross the $1.5 million dollar mark in the first day/week doesn't mean anything, most campaigns actually do take a little bit to get going, so don't be discouraged!
