CALL TO ACTION

Our runaway government is at it again: on Friday Senate Bill 3217 - the Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010 - is scheduled to hit the floor of the US Senate. After 72 hours it comes up for a full vote. You can read the entire 1,421 page bill HERE.

This bill grants permanent, unlimited bailout authority to the Federal Reserve. It's like TARP forever, without requiring another unpopular debate or vote in Congress. In addition, it conveys upon the Fed the power to take over vaguely-defined "nonbank financial companies", and to decide what constitutes a "nonbank financial company" on a case-by-case basis.

The result? Permanent socialization of our country's economy.

Please contact your own Senators and let them know you oppose this bill; if possible, make a visit to the local home offices of your two Senators, and voice your opinion in person. Otherwise, please call, email, and/or fax the offices of both Senators from your state. You can find your Senators on the Senate website.

The following 8 Republican Senators are not yet 100% opposed to this bill; I want to encourage everyone to contact them and let them know that WE THE PEOPLE do not want this bill passed!

And PASS IT ON - let everyone know about this - post it on your blog, email a link to all your friends, leave a comment or a link anywhere you network socially. It's up to us to let our government know that this is unacceptable. We must prevent the passage of yet another piece of legislation designed to transfer control of more of the economy to the federal government. Act today.
