I love discounts and have been known to plot a path through town for the best prices on the products I want. But some things are just not worth enduring, and right now Walmart is on that list! Yes, I said it Walmart isn’t worth the trouble of a discount. I know it may not even be legal to say in some parts of America, but it’s true! The older I get the less I think I can take the uncontrolled cracks on display, bare-foot children rolling under shelves and people who refuse to get their baskets and butts out of the middle of the aisle.
But what grinds my gears more and is almost worse than these things, is the increase of door militia at the exits. With little or no training in customer service they arbitrarily review the details of our receipts. Some will even choose to snoop through the bags (without checking it against the receipt). After suffering the trauma a trip to Walmart causes, this delay to my escape, is exactly what I don't need. Especially after standing in line for 30 minutes listening to the cashier gossip with a department manager about the morning’s meeting and the employees on the verge of getting fired. A job mind you that, if we believe the employees, is one of the worst for women anyway.
Besides, after getting my cheap stuff, all I want to do is get away from the weird 400 pound man who stalks me through the store, eyeing me like a triple stack cheeseburger. Adding more indignity makes me want to impale ....read more
