The theme for September was Fall Forward and the focus was on "forward thinking" essentials to keep you looking fabulous and current.
Shampoo - $20.00 / 10.1 oz.
Conditioner - $20.00 / 10.1 ox.
The GKhair moisturizing shampoo claims to provide incredible smoothing while purifying hair from scalp to ends, leaving hair soft and shiny. It didn't give much of a lather, but that's to be expected with a sulfate-free formula (sulfates are generally what cause a shampoo to lather). My hair still got a good cleanse and didn't feel stripped at all, which is very important for me because not only is my hair color-treated, it's also treated with keratin.
The GKhair moisturizing conditioner claims to leave hair super sleek and protected. It had a creamy, smooth consistency. Although the instructions call for a 5-minute treatment with the conditioner, I was running low on time and only left it in for 2 -3 minutes, but it still worked great and left my hair incredibly smooth, soft and shiny.
Both the shampoo and conditioner are scented with a light, spicy fragrance. It's a bit unexpected, and different from other shampoos and conditioners, but nice.
OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel
$30.00 / 1.6 oz. (Received Full Size)
This product claims to provide a full 8 hours of shine control while keeping makeup looking fresh. I don't generally get very oily so I was unsure how this product would fare on my skin, but I happened to try it out on an incredibly humid day so it definitely had a big job to do.
I rarely wear foundation, so unfortunately I can't speak for makeup staying fresh looking, but I did apply this over my tinted moisturizer and then applied my blush and eye makeup. Mid-day and after a Starbucks run in air so thick I felt like I was swimming, my face still looked pretty matte and my blush still looked great. After work (a full 9 1/2 hours later), my skin was starting to look a little shiny, but still not nearly what it would have been like in the humidity had I not used this product.
I will definitely continue to use this on humid days or those where I feel like I need some extra mattifying protection!
PS - this can also be reapplied mid-day without disturbing makeup, by blending between fingertips and just patting on.
Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42+
$29.99 / 50 ml (Received Full Size)
The cream is a grayish color (not unheard of in many BB creams) and did go on a bit chalky, but once blended, the grayish tint disappears. The cream provided light coverage and gave my skin an even, flawless, and matte finish. I would recommend using a moisturizer underneath this BB Cream if your skin is on the dry side, but that said, this formula would be perfect for those with combination or oily skin.
