Fuss-Free, Natural-Looking Makeup in 10 Minutes

The temps are OFF THE CHARTS right now, and the last thing you need is makeup sliding down your face. In the warmer months I tend to lighten up on makeup anyway, but now that the mercury has reached triple digits in some parts of the country, this step is essential.

So what’s a girl to do? You want to look put together, but not over done – right?

I’ve got you covered and you can do this in ten minutes.

1. Moisturize

Use something light – almost gel-like. I like Lumene Excellent Future Deep Repairing Cream. You get anti-aging benefits with a light formula.

2. Use a CC Cream

This is the best way to get a little coverage without going overboard, PLUS they typically have major SPF, which is certainly a plus in the summer. My favorite is Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream. It has SPF 30 and corrects dark spots as well.

3. Use a creamy eye shadow

Not just any creamy eye shadow will do, mind you, but a stick version that allows you to control. Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint is perfect -- not too much and not too little. Use a light shade like Ample Amber in the corners of your eyes to brighten them up.

4. Mascara

Don’t skip this step, AND make sure you use waterproof (which also means sweat proof!) I like CoverGirl Clump Crusher Water Resistant formula.

5. Get Cheeky

If you like bronzer, load up! If you prefer something brighter, use a creamy blush in a rose tone like Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. I’m partial to Pink Frosting and Hot Tamale.

6. Use lipstick with a gloss or a balm that will keep your lips hydrated.

My favorites are Maybelline Baby Lips and Clinique Super Balm.

You really can pull this look together in 10 minutes! No brushes are required, really, so unless you like to use bronzer, just use your fingers. Remember to always take some blotting papers with you in case you get shiny!
