Fall Trends 2011: How to Wear Red Jeans

Red jeans are hot this fall. But if you aren't a tall stick figure, how do you wear them?

Just like any other pair of jeans, find one that flatters your figure. Some woman can pull off skinny jeans. Most look good in a straight leg. Find a cut that works for you.

Secondly, pay attention to length. Are you going to wear these jeans with heels or flats? Cropped jeans are in, but there is a big difference between those and highwaters. If you want a versatile pair, look into a product like Hem Jems that temporarily change the length of your pants.

While the Duchess of Cambridge and lots of celebrities are pulling off the red skinny jean, what is a better option?

For these examples, I used Kut from the Kloth colored denim flare leg jeans. Below are ideas on how to wear this trend at the office, a night out with girlfriends and running errands on the weekend.

Red Jeans for Casual Friday

The Malene Birger blouse is pricey ($133 at Coggles), but I am in love with it. It would work under a suit or simply paired with a pencil skirt. My personal rule is to find three outfits that work with an item to justify purchasing it. I also have a current obsession with stacked heels. If they aren't your thing, a pair of black heels would work. The cork makes these a little more casual. This next outfit is a departure for me.

Dancing with the Girls

I like the shoes. I like the top, but this is not something I'd ever wear. I'm branching out today from my Charlotte York box.

Running Errands on the Weekend

This I love. It bothers me when people look like slobs on the weekend.Gym attire does not constitute an outfit. You can be comfortable and look nice. This is very relaxed and good for most weekend activities. If what you are wearing to the store on Saturday morning would get you on People of Walmart, GO CHANGE!
