Rosie Pope's maternity wear makes you want to shop in her store...even if you're not pregnant.
“If you wouldn’t wear it before you were pregnant, don’t wear it now,” Rosie Pope talked about her design philosophy in an interview with The Daily Beast back in 2011. And it holds true today. After viewing her fall maternity and babywear line, I found myself mentally shopping for my fall wardrobe. No, I’m not pregnant. As you can see from the below photo, a mommy-to-be and a not mommy-to-be look stunning in Rosie Pope’s clothing.
There are great fashion-forward maternity wear that’ll take you from your baby bump and beyond. Dresses and jackets are done in ponte knits; they stretch with your body and don’t show any lumps or bumps. There’s a cute wishbone print dress and tunic. While they feel and look like silk, they’re made from polyester. Her signature knit is made with nylon and spandex. It wicks away moisture from your body and doesn’t pill. Talking about fabrics—one of the nicest things about Rosie’s clothing for adults is that you can dump them in the washing machine and not worry. I’m particularly fond of the Hampton Tunic (shown below) it’s $98 and it’s seasonless. Each Rosie Pope maternity wear has a tag that either has advice on pregnancy or a reminder on how wonderful you are…even if you’re not feeling that amazing that day.
And oh the baby wear! Like the prints for mom-to-be, all the prints are painted by hand in their Tribeca studio. Clothing ranges from newborn to 2T. Prices start at $9 and top off at $30.
There are super cute animal face sweaters, tees that say “Brains and Muscles” or “Gorgeous and Genius.” Baby clothes come in the traditional pink and blue shades. There’s lots of fun prints too. Instead of the basic green and yellow unisex item, there’s gorgeous unisex clothing in neutral almond. One of Rosie’s innovations is placing buttons on the feet of the onsies. As baby grows, you simply unbutton the feet and the outfit will still fit.
