When my feet suffer and are in need some soothing relief and moisturizer, it is time for a little TLC with one of these homemade foot facials. Since my previous posts Low-cost Kitchen Facials and Affordable Hair Masks from the Kitchen were popular, I thought I would share with some of my friends and family my favorite feet facials!
- 1/4 c sea salt
- 1 T freshly ground coffee beans
- 1/4 c olive oil
- 1 pot coffee, at room temperature
- whipped cream
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- a bit of cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup water
- Mix all the ingredients and submerge your feet as long as you like
- For best results, use it 2 times a week
After you are done, your skin will feel smooth and pedicure will be a breeze. Cuticle care is performed after this, as they are softened and can be pushed back painlessly.
Light Cucumber Shell Mask
2 whole cucumbers
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 ziploc bags
Take the cucumber, lemon juice and olive oil and blend in a blender until pureed. Put the mixture in a bowl and heat it up to warm temperature. Place half of the mixture in a large Ziploc baggie and half in a second baggie. Slide feet right into each baggie, rubbing cucumber mask all over feet. Leave on for 5-10 minutes then rinse with warm water.
The cucumber is extra refreshing and reviving for tired toes, the lemon helps exfoliate and the olive oil deeply moisturizes for super softness.
First, soften the calluses: blend two tablespoons of baking soda in a basin of warm water and add a few drops of lavender oil. After a nice long soak, scrub them away using three parts baking soda, one part water, and one part brown sugar. Follow with an application of a rich moisturizer and a warm towel foot wrap. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
Sugar Cookie Foot Scrub
- 2/3 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 tbs vanilla extract
- 1 half pint mason jar
In a medium sized bowl, combine your brown sugar and white sugar. Whisk them together until they are completely combined. Add in your olive oil and vanilla extract and mash together with a fork until all of the oil is combined into the sugar mixture. Pack the mixture down into your mason jar.
DIY Foot Scrub
Add I cup of white sugar in a bowl next add 2 tsp of olive and and mix well with a spoon avoid using hands then add 2tsp of baking soda and mix again.Then add 2tsp of honey and mix well unit all the lumps are removed.then you can add 1tsp of jojoba oil and essential oil to give it a nice smell and mix well.viola the foot scrub is ready.store it in a a jar.
Use this scrub before or while taking a shower and massage in circular motion and concentrate on the rough spots.once you rinse it your feet will remain moisturized because of the oil .This scrub can be used on hands as well.
Tea Tree and Mint Homemade Foot Scrub
- Carrier oil (I used Organic Apricot oil, something that doesn't have a strong scent would be best)
- Sea salt
- Organic tea tree essential oil
- Organic peppermint essential oil
- Sterilize your jar by boiling for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Let it cool off.
- Fill the jar with sea salt about 3/4 full.
- Add the carrier oil so that it completely covers the salt.
- Add 6 drops of each essential oil.
These essential oils are pretty strong, so if you have sensitive skin, try just a couple drops at first and see how it goes. It can also feel pretty tingly which in my opinion feels great on my feet. Love the clean smell too!
Tequila Lime Foot Scrub from The Beauty Bean
Seriously, I might want to drink this one and then my feet might just start to look awesome and I won't care? I don't know.
1/2 c tequila
1/2 c lime juice
2 c seltzer
6 mulled mint leaves
Mix tequila, lime juice, seltzer and mint leaves in a medium under-the-bed plastic container. Soak your tired feet in liquid for 20 minutes. Add one cup of granulated sugar to mix and scrub to your feet and lower legs to buff away dead skin. Rinse in cool water.
