The runway shows aren't the only exciting part about Fashion Week; the street style is what I look forward to the most! Maybe one day I'll be able to afford the looks coming down the runway, but in the meantime I seek my personal style inspiration from the fashionable women attending the shows. I've selected three of my favorite looks from New York Fashion Week and shown you how to achieve a similar look on a budget.
Channel West Coast Lucky Magazine Editor and style blogger Marlien Rentmeester by wearing a bright golden jacket.
Throw on a pair of black pants, a simple white shirt and black sandals to complete the look. Step it up a notch and try adding an embellished necklace, like the feather one above. You can also style this wardrobe staple with jeans or over a simple shift dress. Be bold and try other bright hues, like pink, cobalt and emerald!
The ever-cool Elin Kling shows us that distressed, baggy jeans can look chic!
Grab your comfiest boyfriend jeans, throw on a thin neutral tank and top it off with a polished blazer. Pointy toe pumps and a small clutch complete this minimalistic look.
Linda Fargo of Bergdorf Goodman's leather skirt is (of course) perfectly on-trend for fall and more versatile than you would think! Wear it with a simple blouse as Linda did for work, and swap it out for a tight tee shirt and funky heels at night. Don't be afraid to mix brown and black -- embrace this winning combo!
