There are a number of makers of e-readers (or e-book readers) nowadays, all of them featuring more readable screens and longer battery life than your typical tablet. They employ "electronic paper", which has a display that mimics how ordinary paper reflects light. This allows you to read text even in bright sunlight (as opposed to the typical computer screen, which can be washed out and faded by ambient light). There are a number of well-known brands of e-readers: Amazon's Kindle series, Barnes & Noble's Nook series, Kobo, Onyx, Sony Reader, and more. You can get Kindle e-readers that are 6" on the diagonal, with 4 GB of storage and WiFi. The Kindle also features a number of add-ons to increase your vocabulary and word knowledge, as well as to encourage children to read more.
