They may have never met, but Princess Diana and Kate Middleton are kindred spirits in more than one way. They both share a love for Prince William (who wouldn't?), came from modest beginnings, and oh yeah, they both have rockin' maternity style. Here are some of their most famous looks.
Every princess knows you've got to impress when you're out on the town at a fancy event, and Kate did just that in this soft blue maternity dress. In her typical fashion, she kept things simple and accessorized with simple drop earrings, a swept back half updo and that gorgeous ring of hers.
Hello dress of our dreams! Diana looked beautiful in this fluffy pink dress and white cardigan combo. She topped off the look with tights, flats and a bejeweled choker. We only wish we had somewhere special to wear such a fun look tonight!
Like her hubby's mom, Kate sure loves her hats. And why wouldn't she? They look pretty darn cute on her. This beret style hat looks chic against the backdrop of her mint coat. The coloring blends nicely with those brass buttons and nude clutch, if you ask us.
Diana sure knew how to color coordinate! She paired this bright red coat with a matching hat and a ruffled dress. We love the way the hat flips up on the side and you can still see her textured locks. Tres chic, no?
This term doesn't exactly exist in the world of a princess quite too often, but Kate wears it well, dressing this patterned dress down with a dark clutch and her signature blowout.
While a tad more casual than Kate's style, Diana's casual wear of choice is equally as cute and looks oh so comfy to us. The look is perfect for a day spent watching the horse races!
The polka dot dress
Would you believe that Kate's dress isn't even maternity wear? Yep, it came from Topshop and sold out after she was spotted wearing it during a visit to Warner Bros. Studios! Kate paired the look with a black cardigan and minimal accessories, letting her dress take center stage.
Great moms-to-be think alike, I guess! Diana was also a fan of the classic polka dot dress and rocked this green and white number with a white collar. Combined with chic white flats and cool shades, this is a look that sure looks comfy to us.
Special event style
Daytime events are sometimes hard to dress for, but Kate looked classy and fashion forward in this colorful sheath dress/coat combo. Nude accessories and soft waves provided the perfect soft finishing touch.
Casual meets formal in this polka dot ruffled dress. Diana classed things up with her string of pearls and showed off that baby bump in this smocked number.
