SheKnows: What are your must-haves for a busy day out with your son Roman?

Debra Messing: I have to be wearing something that is really comfortable and allows me to dive into a spontaneous game of soccer or touch football or baseball or what have you. He is 9 and he is a Tasmanian devil and he is nonstop. Part of it is just being dressed for occasion. If I know that I'm going to be going outside with him, I'll take a Zyrtec before and throw the drops in my bag. I keep a protein bar in there for me to keep me going and a snack for him and water.

SK: What are your favorite places to shop?

DM: I'm a very big online shopper. Gilt Groupe is a big one for me. I like Fab.com... there are a lot of fun, creative things you can find there. Fancy is fun to look at and I also like FirstDibs, just for inspiration. They have really beautiful furniture and jewelry and it's really more about design.

SK: What beauty tip did you swear by when you were pregnant?

DM: There is this oil sold in Whole Foods that has an image of a pregnant woman on it. It's a clear bottle and it's a mixture of like eight different oils: almond, coconut, safflower oil. I can't even list all of them. A mom had told me that's what you need to use and you won't get stretch marks. I used it every single day and it worked.

SK: What's your maternity style advice for moms who are expecting?

DM: Comfort is key. Your body is constantly changing and I think it's a matter of anything a woman can do to empower herself and feel her best. So whether it's finding clothes that make you feel beautiful, especially when you're pregnant and you go through periods where you don't feel beautiful... or pretty shoes.

SK: Who is your celebrity style icon?

DM: I've always been interested in what Cate Blanchett chooses to wear. She's creative.
