O-M-G! Amy Adams looked absolutely breathtaking in her fairy tale Oscar de la Renta ball gown on the red carpet this evening. A very appropriate designer choice for one of the biggest award shows of the year, right?

If we could have dreamed up the perfect Oscars gown for Amy Adams, it would have paled in comparison to the one the actress actually ended up wearing tonight. Her strapless, light blue Oscar de la Renta gown featured delicate beading at the bodice, a gorgeous tiered ruffle skirt and a long, stunning train. We couldn't take our eyes off of it!

Apparently Amy chose the princess-y dress only two weeks ago, as she confessed to Ryan Seacrest that they had to rush to get it finished in time. She styled it with Mouawad jewels, as well as an elegant updo and a neutral lip.
