Mama Loves Style: Pleated and pretty for spring

Color Indulgence

This bright pink tank is a glimpse at what I'll be wearing as the weather warms up (color, color and color), and since I love pleats, this outfit was a no brainer.

I'm completely ready for spring, and I think this is the perfect example of an outfit for that transition period between winter and spring — when you start to have that urge to wear fun colors and show off your flirty style. Even so, this look has a very romantic feel and still looks appropriate in the colder weather.

The shoes

(Target, $40)

Black ankle boots like these are just as necessary to have in your wardrobe as black flats!

The good news is, you don't have to spend a ton on popular brands — they are such a staple that bargain stores make them too!

The skirt

(Similar style at Forever 21, $15)

You can find some more pricey styles at stores like BCBG, but I found an adorable bargain option at Target and another similar style at Forever 21.

If you don't have any black tights, you can find a pair at Target. It really is a one-stop shop!

Cardigan

(JC Penney, $13)

You'll want a slightly cropped cardigan for a skirt that sits higher on your waist — and when it's still chilly, a sweater will be necessary.

The top

(Old Navy, $18)

Simple, pretty, affordable. Enough said!
