BB Cream, or “Beauty Balm” as it’s also known, is everywhere. The product du jour is basically a multitasking tinted moisturizer. They offer hydration with a tint but can also include SPF, primer, anti-aging or blemish-busting ingredients and other features that work to even skin tone and minimize pores. With so many BB creams on the market, it can be hard to choose, but we’ve rounded up some of our favorites.

Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector

Speed up your morning routine by smoothing on this lightweight BB cream ($13). Garnier’s version of the must-have product offers SPF 15, goes on easily, hydrates and evens tone. The coverage is less than what you’d get with foundation, but more than your average tinted moisturizer.

Too Faced Beauty Balm Multi-Benefit Skin Care Makeup

We like this BB cream ($32) for its light-diffusing pigments that help give skin a subtle glow -- not to mention the oil-free hydration, anti-aging properties and skin-nourishing ingredients such as vitamins A and E and chamomile. It offers just enough color to even tone, but you can also use it as a primer to prep skin for foundation if you need more coverage.

Boscia BB Cream SPF 27

If you’re looking for something that goes on easily with a smooth finish, Boscia’s BB cream ($38) is for you. We love the fact that it's long-wearing and even which keeps us looking fresh through to post-work drinks. Coverage is sheer, but it manages to even tone and minimize pores, which makes us happy. There’s only one shade, but it adjusts to your skin tone upon application.

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35

Are you ready for your close-up? You will be after using this ultra-hydrating and skin- perfecting cream ($39). A little goes a long way with this one (just use a pea-size amount to start), but it evens tone, minimizes shine, moisturizes and protects against sun damage with SPF 35. Use this alone or as a primer depending on how much coverage you need.

While most BB creams are meant to provide enough coverage to forgo foundation, this one acts more as a primer, albeit a super-powered primer ($38). When they say 10-in-1, they aren’t kidding around. These recommendations are great! I really want to try a BB cream because I hate wearing full-coverage foundation just to go to class so I will be investing in one of these!

I never really understood the BB cream craze, but it is so great! I love that it is versatile as a foundation or a primer, depending on the coverage desired. They seem pricey at first, but a little goes a long way so it is a really great investment!

I tried Maybelline's BB Cream and I really like it. It's not that great of a brand, so I'm curious to try one of the more expensive ones next! Thanks for the recommendations.
