Hello SK Style Watchers! Over the next few weeks the world will be watching the Summer Games, and you’re probably no exception. Why not show your spirit for Team USA, and wear your heart on your fabulous sleeve? With all the inspiration and excitement that this event brings, you know this has got to be my pick for favorite trend of the week!
So, what are some of the best red, white and blue pieces to incorporate into your style for the Summer Games? I’ve picked three great accessories that you can mix with the items already in your closet. And even though they are so right now, these pieces will also have staying power in your wardrobe for years to come!
What’s better than a fabulous pair of red, white and blue sunnies to show you’re Team USA, all the way? These sunglasses are Marc by Marc Jacobs ($140), so you know in addition to being super stylish, they‘ll also last forever. Throw these on with a chambray denim shirt, white skirt and red lipstick to hit your style stride.
I love this navy scarf by Lexington Clothing Co. ($89) because it’s an overt nod to the stars and stripes and a classic. Doesn’t this just look like it should be out on a sailboat at Kennebunkport? How about wearing this with your red jeans that we all went mad for this season and a white graphic tee? Maybe a vintage band tee, such as Bruce Springsteen or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Because you were "Born in the USA," you "American Girl," you!
It’s a well-known fact that I’m addicted to colored watches, and if you haven’t bought one yet, now is the time! Check out these watches by Sector ($595). They all look great together or worn separately. Add in some other bracelets too, if you wish, for a delicious dish of American arm candy! Wear these with a simple LWD and take home the gold for your best style.
So there you have it, SK Style watchers! Three great ways to showcase your spirit and style for the Summer Games. Remember, it’s really about the accessories, since all you have to do is bring out the red, white and blue that you already have in your wardrobe. And don’t forget the red lips -- that’s a must! On my video Aug. 8, I’m going to show you three fabulous ways to go vintage with your style! For SheKnows Style, I’m Jill Laine.
