Your summer go(ld)-tos!

Hello SK Style Watchers! Even though I love gold all year-round, my favorite time to wear it is in the summer months. By its very nature, gold is glamorous and chic, which takes our more casual summer style up a notch but in an easy and effortless way. Gold is at its best when paired with bare, sun-kissed skin, which is why it’s my pick as favorite trend of the week!

Now when it comes to gold, there are infinite items to choose from. That being said, these are my three "gold"-to favorites for you:

Our pick: Alisa Michelle La Dolce Vita Necklace, $62.

Gold jewelry

From necklaces to bracelets to rings, I could never pick just one piece to talk about! My tip here: Rather than wear all your gold at once, which can easily look overdone, pick one area and then go all out. Laser focus your gold on your wrists, neck or fingers. Although big statement pieces are always fabulous, layering delicate, small gold items creates a look that is pretty, light and just right for summer.

Our pick: Alisa Michelle La Dolce Vita Necklace, $62.

Our pick: Dolche Vita Archer Sandals, $69, Zappos.com

Gold sandals

Hands down, every summer, this is the pair of shoes that I wear endlessly. That’s because gold is a perfect neutral: It looks elegant with white, adds a big pop of style to your darker neutrals and is dazzling when worn with your bright colors and neons, wow! Trust me, these are the sandals you will wear out by the end of the season.

Our pick: Dolce Vita Archer Sandals, $69, Zappos.com

Our pick: Foil Print Cardigan, $83, ASOS.com

Gold cardigan

A cardigan with golden sequins or a gold metallic sheen is the perfect item to throw on over your LWD in the evening for instant summer glam, without looking like you tried too hard. Even with a really casual look, like shorts and a tee, a gold cardigan will effortlessly add polish to your look.

Our pick: Foil Print Cardigan, $83, ASOS.com

So there you have it, SK Style Watchers! My three "gold"-to items that will add instant glam to your summer style.

Next week, I’ll be talking about the three fabrics to wear this summer that will add extra dimension and texture to your summer wardrobe! For SK Style, I’m Jill Laine.

In my opinion, yellow gold jewelry like this has made a comeback as the elegant and fun choice for fine jewelry. I have a gold diamond pendant I wear with literally everything. Other pieces are made in white gold when I want to look modern and trendy.

I have always and will always swear by gold everything! It is so luxe and chic and I just can't get enough! Also want to let you girls know that gold is way more neutral than you think and can look good on just about anyone.

I think gold jewelry has really made a comeback as of late. For so long I only wanted silver or white gold, but yellow gold really does stand the test of time! And adding an accent of gold can really add a touch that can take your outfit to a whole new level.
