Over The Rainbow

Isn’t it about time you switched up your everyday look? We certainly think so! Color yourself happy this summer in soft shades of sorbet, eye-popping brights and beautiful bolds. When paired with the right items, you’ll make a style statement that’s all your own.

Electric aqua

From the runway to the streets, electric aqua is shaping up to be one of the hottest shades of the season. We've already seen the likes of major celebrities, such as Chloe Moretz, Julianne Hough and Selena Gomez, rocking the trend on the red carpet this summer. For day, try pairing a vibrant aqua handbag with a simple white sundress, or perhaps toss on some high-waisted aqua shorts, a neutral crop top and chic sandals for a fun summer soiree.

Pretty pastels

A pretty pastel shade, like light pink or mint green, really pops when contrasted against a gorgeous summer glow. If you're feeling daring, follow the lead of fashion designers and trendsetters worldwide and don an allover sorbet ensemble, mixing shades of pale yellow with icy blue, and orange sherbet with light lavender.

Not quite so bold? Opt for stand-out accessories (perhaps a pastel pump or peachy wedge) that will punch up your summertime look without overwhelming.

Not so mellow yellow

Have some fun in the sun this season in summer's absolute must-have hue, canary yellow. While bright and bold, this cheery hue actually complements all skin tones. So don't be afraid — slip into a vibrant yellow cover-up, or try on a pair of luminous lemon shorts and pair them with a nautical navy-and-white striped tank.

Sunny accessories are also a great way to ease into this trend. Think yellow flats, sunglasses and even cute little headbands. A pop of yellow nail polish will also do the trick.

Highlighter hues

From neon greens to hot pinks, highlighter hues are everywhere this season. Embrace the dayglow trend and rock a pair of eye-popping jeans or colorful denim cutoffs. Remember: Keep the rest of your outfit fairly neutral. You wouldn't want to wind up looking like a blast from the past or a club kid straight out of the '80s, now would you? We didn’t think so.

Fashion tip

Layer a brightly colored statement necklace over your favorite blouse or even a T-shirt, suggests Rebecca Raskind, VP of Chic Little Devil Style House. This is a fun and easy way to liven up your look without going overboard!

I really like the pastel and neon trends this season. Both are great investments and both will add a lot of color but still keep you looking fresh and not too over the top. I don't think I could do a full pastel outfit, but I have a pair of pastel purple capri pants that I really love!

I think the tip about adding a statement piece in a bright color is the perfect way to add color but not go overboard! I love seeing color accented in jewelry or shoes and think it adds a great style to any outfit. Also a fun bright pair of sunglasses is a great summer accessory!
