Going to prom -- and looking great -- doesn’t have to mean spending a small fortune. There are numerous options that are both stylish and affordable. If you're looking for something great on a budget, we sourced some fashionable finds all for under $100.
Show off your floral side with this adorable (and affordable) strapless dress covered in beautiful blooms (modcloth.com, $50). A slightly padded bust adds shape and light ruching at the waist creates a slim, flattering silhouette. Simply add some brushed or antique gold accessories and a pair of patent pumps and you’re ready to get noticed on prom night.
We couldn’t resist this feminine, flirty strapless eyelet dress in on-trend summer white (revolveclothing.com, $83). The waist is cinched with a contrasting black belt and the lacy eyelet overlay comes down slightly below the dress lining for a subtle peek-a-boo effect. Add black pumps and a black, beaded clutch to complete the look.
Fun with ruffles
Sometimes the simplest dresses are the most flattering. Case in point: this royal blue scoop neck shift dress with an oversize ruffle down the side (mango.com, $60). Because the design is so simple, you can get away with some bling. Add some shoes and accessories that have a heavy dose of sparkle.
Lovely in lace
Go girly for prom in this pretty frock featuring a floral lace and bead-embellished top with a deep V-neckline and plunging V-back (asos.com, $78). The high-waisted, skater-style skirt adds some playfulness to this otherwise elegant and feminine dress. Pair with silver accessories and strappy heels.
Make it a maxi
Opt for bright, summer-ready color in this strapless maxi dress in a vibrant shade of coral (piperlime.com, $59). The cascading ruffle at the chest and shirred fitted bodice add interest to an otherwise understated dress. Create even more of a statement with sky high heels and a beaded statement necklace.
While it may be a little unconventional for prom, we were still mighty intrigued by this vintage-inspired cocktail dress in houndstooth jacquard (americanapparel.com, $84). We love the edgy, menswear-inspired twist on the classic cocktail dress and think this could really be a great prom outfit with the right accessories. Add a belt, bright red peep toe heels and a matching clutch to complete the look.
