Being beautiful and staying healthy don't come easy. That's why I love a good beauty bargain. So you can imagine my excitement when I first heard about Wellness Week! This exciting event is taking place March 19-25 and you're going to want to get in on it, dolls.
In an effort to inspire Americans to take control of their health, Wellness Week takes place every March and asks hundreds of spas, gyms and salons across the country to offer their services for either $50 or 50 percent off. Can you say bargain?!
In addition, tons of local participating locations nationwide will also be offering free community events -- think free mini treatments, counseling, workshops and more. For the first time this year, actress Mariel Hemingway is serving as the official spokesperson for Wellness Week.
So what does all this mean for you? Well, it means you better get booking fast, lovelies, and get ready to do some major relaxing -- at a discount! All you have to do is sign up for Wellness Week online and you'll get an email to allow you to book deals at spas, salons and gyms in your area.
If you're not convinced yet, here's a recap of my recent experience at Boston's Mandarin Oriental Spa to show you just why Wellness Week rocks.
Last week, I headed into the Mandarin Oriental Spa to test drive one of the services the spa is offering at a discount for Wellness Week. What was on the menu for the day? The spa's incredible Mandarin Oriental Signature Spa Therapies treatment.
Testing out a massage for this story was a hard job but somebody's got to do it, right? (Note the sarcasm!) Now let me just say that I was super impressed with the calm, soothing environment this spa offered. Seriously, the minute you step into the lobby, you feel as though you've walked into another world -- and a better world, at that.
Now the details! Before indulging in a relaxing massage, I checked out the calming facilities and was immediately obsessed with the heated benches they have -- honestly, I need to get one of these for my place. Then came time for my service: a treatment that was seven years in the making and incorporates extensive research, soothing aromatherapy and Chinese medicine methods.
By the end of my massage, I was completely and utterly relaxed and ready to face the snow falling outside. I walked away with better knowledge of taking care of my body, nutritional advice and peace of mind.
And you want to know the best part? The price of this and other incredibly relaxing spa services is super slashed for Wellness Week which means you don't have to feel so guilty for indulging a little. And don't we all deserve a little pampering?!
