Let's light up the runway! This week's challenge really had the designers taking fashion to a new level when they learned they needed to use lighting technology to create an avant-garde look. Plus, in true Project Runway form, style superstar Pharrell would be judging their looks. (Talk about nerve-racking -- his star shines brighter than anything in the fashion world!)
This is definitely one of my favorite episodes because within the first few minutes, there was already drama -- meaning Mondo called Mr. Porcelain "high maintenance" and a "prima donna." I'll be honest. I totally agree. He was sashaying everywhere while shopping for supplies. Keep up the bitchy comments, Mondo… highly entertaining.
When Joanna entered (just as excited about the Pharrell aspect of the challenge as everyone else), she immediately told Mr. Porcelain to make sure his dress "stands out compared to the other four in the room." Eeeks. Maybe he needs to lose his prima donna attitude. Hint hint.
After Joanna left and Jerell showed Kenley his design, I freaked! He incorporated fiber optic lights! Totally fun, with that perfect hint of crazy! (It reminded me of a character in a parade at Walt Disney World.)
OK, dim the lights (to the runway black lights) and let's talk designs!
The winner? Austin. My winner? Austin as well, but I loved Mondo's power-girl look as well. The loser? Jerell. Totally fine with me. His look was a mess and he did not deserve to stay. See ya!
My predicted winner after this week's episode: Mondo
See you next week!
