The queen of breathtaking feminine fashion has done it again: Vera Wang showed off a line to lust over at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week 2012. SheKnows was there to drool over the gorgeous collection and we're dishing all the details!
Celebs ranging from Leighton Meester to Renee Zellweger filled the seats with fashion fans for the highly anticipated reveal of Vera Wang's Fall 2012 Collection. Without an open seat in the house, lights dimmed for a truly spectacular show.
What we saw
Now this is a fashion collection that just flows -- literally. SheKnows spied a collection of breathtaking dresses with sheer, flowing fabrics in dark, neutral patterns we loved, sprinkled in with a few splashes of color: a fiery orange and a softer, more subtle steel blue. A slew of the styles featured exaggerated lengths, backless (sometimes cheekless) detail and unexpected accents: We're talking funky geometric cut-outs, fur, sequins... the fun stuff!
(And just a note on what we didn't see: Vera Wang herself practically sprinted from one side of the stage to the other, without setting foot on the runway. Those who blinked would have missed her. And while our camera trigger fingers were too slow, we did catch a glimpse of that long dark hair and understated elegance of hers. Ahhh... next time, Vera!)
Our favorite piece
Can we really only pick just one?! While this favorite fashion style of ours is not for everyday wear, it's one from which we can pull some fashion tips. This steel blue look is comprised of a sheer chiffon mock turtleneck with rhinestone armored detailing, and a long sheer skirt that carries the length all the way to the floor. A short slit in the back allows just enough movability without compromising the flow. What we loved most about this dress was the halter-crossing back straps. To die for!
What you'll see in street style
Word on the street is... detail is in. And it's better than ever before, baby! Expect to spice up your boring dress styles this fall and add some unexpected accents to your flowing, feminine style.
