Jenny Packham is following in the footsteps of other designers like Versace, Missoni and Jason Wu by releasing her own collection of affordable clothes for the masses. The line — called No. 1 Jenny Packham — will feature shoes, dresses, jewelry and fascinators for both women and children, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
The line will range in price from $134 to $253 and be sold exclusively in U.K. Debenhams department stores. No word if it will be available for U.S. shipments, but we're hoping.
The whole thing is a dream come true, according to Packham.
"As a young girl I was regularly abandoned in Debenhams Southampton whilst my parents disappeared to search for the latest Teasmade or some other 'must have' electrical appliance. During this time I lost myself in the rails of '70s polyester and dreamt of a life in fashion," she said in a statement.
"Therefore it is only natural that I have chosen Debenhams to launch my first High Street collection. My aim always is to design styles that create glamour and excitement whether it is for the red carpet or a teenage prom. My collaboration with Debenhams is a great opportunity for me."
Packham is one of the most sought-after designers for celebrities, including Middleton, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Angelina Jolie. The sultry In the Land of Blood and Honey director wore a Jenny Packham creation to the Screen Actors Guild Awards in late January.
We're assuming the No. 1 Jenny Packham collection will sell out quickly, just like the Missoni and Jason Wu collections for Target. After all, people scooped up the $3,315 dress the Duchess of Cambridge wore to a charity event in June 2011.
