"I love New York"
Known for her chic handbag collection, especially her Morning After clutch, Rebecca Minkoff is no stranger to the fashion world. When she launched a five piece apparel line in 2001, she was first noticed for a clever "I Love New York" T-shirt that was featured on Jay Leno and made it into the glossy pages of Us Weekly.
Fast-forward to 2005, Minkoff decided to take a swing at creating handbags, enter the Morning After bag. Celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Agyness Deyn, Lauren Conrad and many others can be seen flaunting their own Rebecca Minkoff handbag creation.
Now, with a staff of about 12 and many thoughts, suggestions and ideas going into the Minkoff collection, there's no telling how much more notoriety the brand will get.
Doing it all
In 2009, the Rebecca Minkoff decided to revolve back to her original love of clothing design. She launched a full apparel collection in 2009. She now designs handbags, clothing and accessories.
The San Diego native always had a knack for designing and sewing. After graduating from high school, Minkoff decided she wanted to explore her design talent and moved to New York City. The rest is history and her designs can be spotted on edgy-chic downtown girls to uptown, modern ladies.
Because of her entrepreneurial endeavors, Minkoff was honored as one of the New York Moves Power Women in the fashion industry in 2009. Not to mention in 2010, she was admitted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
With her studs, chains and zippers that detail her handbag collections, she doesn't miss a style beat with whatever creation she pumps out. Whether you're more modest or modern, this Rebecca Minkoff has a talent for taste.
