The best in hair

Music's biggest night is only a few days away. Time to bring on the crazy fashion, killer performances, surprise wins and most importantly, the crazy hair. We catch up with esteemed celebrity hairstylist and hair treatment expert, Philip B, to predict the best hair trends at the Grammys. Plus, he fills us in on who he is most excited to see on the red carpet.

Last year, Rihanna nailed the carpet with her mid-length red locks and Jennifer Hudson looked fresh with her sultry straight 'do. This year, it's all about one word… Adele. "I'm most excited to see Adele because she's so soulful and utterly sui generis," Philip says. We believe that her hairstyle look will be as impressive as those powering vocals. "One of the biggest hair trends will be the updated '60s look that Adele has perfected," Philip says. "Either a bouncy flip with volume at the crown or a full-on beehive will work best."

Like Philip, we also (of course) are most excited to see what Lady Gaga brings to the show. "I love her surreal looks," Philip says. "It's always fun to see what she's dreamed up next."

Here are more of Philip's top hairstyle predictions in each of the major music categories. (We're beyond excited to see these stars as well.)

Katy Perry -- Blue hair bob

Pop

Artists like Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga will probably continue to push the envelope with edgy, futuristic styles and crazy hair colors, such as blue, pink or platinum blond wigs and hair pieces, color-blocked hair and dip-dyeing.
Carrie Underwood -- Shiny, big curls

Country

This will most likely go in the opposite direction of the pop stars, with natural hair color, lots of shine and volume and big, bouncy curls.
Esperanza Spalding -- Natural hair

R&B

These stars will go back to natural curls and waves: Think Esperanza Spalding.
