KStew goes glam for Balenciaga

Twilight star Kristen Stewart is continuing her ascent in the fashion world with her new gig as the face of designer Balenciaga's forthcoming second fragrance.

Kristen Stewart joins Balenciaga

"Kristen Stewart embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence. From her early appearance in Panic Room to her independent choice of Welcome to the Rileys," said Nicolas Ghesquière, Creative Director of Balenciaga. "I've always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I've always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga."

The girlfriend of Robert Pattinson has worn the French label to a variety of red carpet events, including the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.

"I love Balenciaga fashion because it is incredibly bold and forceful, yet feminine and sexy. I found there was a real creative freedom about this project. I feel blessed and really proud of being the face of this new fragrance," Stewart said in a statement.

The perfume — a partnership with fragrance giant Coty — is still in the works. The label's current perfume, L'Essence by Balenciaga Paris, is repped by Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Despite her high fashion cred, Stewart said she still prefers her simple jeans and tees.

"I like fashion because it's part of my work. I dive into the new trends when I have to, but I'm more of jeans and T-shirt kind of girl," she told SkyView magazine in November.

"In Los Angeles I like to go to vintage stores, I look for funny T-shirts. I'm very casual when I'm not working, but I think everybody should have their own style, even if they're going to the gym."
