New Year’s Eve is fast approaching and no matter where you’ll be and what you’ll be doing, we know you want to look great all night. To help ensure your party-ready look doesn’t fade as the clock strikes midnight, we put together a list of must-have beauty items to keep in your purse. Think of this as your New Year’s Eve beauty emergency kit and don’t leave home without it!

Oil blotting papers

Let's face it; shine happens. Keep your complexion looking fresh and fabulous by having oil blotting papers on hand for easily eliminating shine. We especially love the fact that these thin, oil-absorbing sheets don't mess with your makeup (no smudges here) or cause any risk of over-powdering. We like the matte blotting papers from Sephora ($8).

Perfect your pout for your midnight kiss (and all of those photos that are sure to be taken) with a pretty tinted lip gloss. Opt for something with some shine (but not too much) and a hint of tint. We love Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Gloss ($23) in Rose Sugar, a rosy pink perfect for a party. The gloss offers non-sticky shine and a touch of iridescence.

Small mirror

Perfect for reapplying gloss or checking to ensure you don't have anything stuck in your teeth pre-midnight kiss, a small mirror is an invaluable part of your party arsenal. We love anything decorative and swooned when we found this cute, vintage-inspired mirror (, $28), the ideal clutch-size accessory for discreet touch-ups.

Hair help

Keep a few pretty pins (jeweled bobby pins work well) in your purse in case you need to tame your tresses mid-party. They can help keep an updo from collapsing or simply keep hair out of your eyes as you dance the night away. We found this subtly sparkly set at Banana Republic ($13), featuring glass stones set against silver plated pins.

Feet relief

Heels can take their toll on your feet, especially if you're up mingling and dancing for hours. If you have room we suggest Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats ($10), a pair of sleek, simple black flats that fold up into a small wristlet pouch to relieve sore, tired feet at the end of the night. If you have room, try them out. Your feet will thank you.
