All about volume

During Fashion Week, many trends emerge for the very first time, and at Betsey Johnson's Spring Collection show, hair took charge of the catwalk. Follow these step-by-step directions on how to recreate this sultry hairstyle that was seen all over the eclectic designer's runway.

lift roots

Apply a root lifting spray all over your roots like Redken's Rootful 06 Root Lifting Spray. You want to make sure that you have volume and lift before you start.

divide diagonally

Divide your hair into a diagonal part starting from the front left side and ending in the back to the right. This gives the hairstyle that rockstar edge.

sweep to right

Take your hair under the left part and sweep it around for a tight ponytail on the lower right nape of the neck. Make sure it's as secure around the right side as possible.

pin curl

Gather your hair on the right side of your part. Pin curl your hair section by section and let it set. Make sure you let it set for at least 20-30 minutes.

hairspray generously

Spray your hair all over with hairspray on the top and inside each of the curls in order to lock them in place. Try Redken Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray for a super tight hold.

brush out

Once your hair has dried, take the clips out and brush it through to create dramatic, sexy waves. Spritz on a glossing spray for a shiny touch. Try Cutler Shine Tattoo for a glossy finish.
