After three months of summertime heat, we can't wait for fall -- mostly because we can't wait to get our hands on some of the season's new trends. At the top of the must-have list are the hot new fall jackets. Here are five of our faves.

Cropped faux shearling jacket

A cozy cropped faux shearling jacket combines two hot fall trends: cropped lengths and shearling. The split-zipped hoodie on this one keeps a sleek silhouette, and the double cinch buckle at the waist creates an hourglass figure under all that shearling.

Short trench

Once again, the cropped look pops up, this time in a new seasonal trench. A trench is so flattering for so many figures, and since this short trench isn't too cropped (it cuts nicely at the top of the hips), it makes a nice line for those with curves. We love the double-breasted button details, zipper pockets and color of this white-hot coat. You'll certainly stand out in a crowd of black, beige and brown coats with this fall trench.

Faux leather moto jacket

Motorcycle boots were huge last year, so it's only fair that motorcycle jackets get their turn in the sun this season. A simple faux leather moto jacket is the perfect way to transition from summer time fun to chilly fall nights. Toss this baby over a floral dress, maxi dress, jeans or even jean cutoffs. You cannot go wrong pairing this style jacket with nearly anything.

Cropped Faux fur coat

A furry, fuzzy faux fur coat will make you want to snuggle up in a log cabin with a hot toddie and a hot hottie. The faux fur look will keep you warm and fashionable and looks extra cute in light brown. Be sure to nab one before the trend is gone!

Capelet jacket

Capelets have gone classy. This is the perfect LBC (little black coat) for the start of the fall season all the way through winter. Layer a wool capelet over cozy, fitted sweaters and under thin scarves. The capelet is also perfect to pair over dressy attire if you're headed out for a fancy night on the town. Don't just get this look in black: Pick up another in berry red or purple to stand out in the crowd.
