The trend isn't changing. It's all about the shine as the weather grows colder. (Yes, we know it's hard to think about that while you're sweating your rear end off.) We've seen metallics all over the magazines and in all the stores. But...metallics are really easy to overdo. I mean, it's metallic. Too much shine can make you look a little trashy...or at least like a robot.
Here's what you do: Pick one clothing item, one accessory and one shiny thing on the face. For that last category, we recommend Stila's Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. It stays on and it gives a lovely shimmer. It's not glitter though, so you won't have to worry about booking an appointment with the eye doctor when you take it off.
Start with a nude base all over the eye. Put a darker nude in the crease and buff a little shadow in the same family as the liner color you love along the lid. Then line with the Stila liner. To soften the line, give it a quick smudge with your finger or a Q-tip.
For the rest of the face, keep it soft with a nude blush and a great gloss. It comes in seven shades, so have fun with your look. Our current favorite is electric, a bright teal that looks great with an otherwise neutral face. Don't be afraid to play!
