How to dress for a football game or party

Football fashions

Maybe you've never heard of Vince Young, or maybe you're his biggest fan. Whether you just go to the games for the Tostitos and sideline entertainment, or are a devoted Chicago Bears fan waiting to see who will be traded next while wearing a Jay Cutler jersey, it's time to talk style. No matter if you're in the stands, at a party or in your living room, prepare to become a football fashionista!

1Dress to impress

Who said dresses were only for cocktail parties? Support your team by sporting a dress dedicated to them or your favorite player.

The great thing about NFL dresses is they can be as simple or as ornate as you prefer. Wear your dress out for drinks after a big game to show your pride without feeling sloppy. Alternatively, put a thick monochromatic belt over an over-sized jersey for a similar style.

2Think pink

Stand out in a pink jersey. That's right, many teams are now manufacturing sportswear of a lighter hue, in addition to their usual colors. During breast cancer awareness month, fans weren't the only ones who were pretty in pink. 25o pound players rocked pink cleats, sweat bands and gloves.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans can now wave "The Terrible Towel" in support of both their team and breast cancer research. It doesn't stop there, though. Pink water bottles, jerseys and even footballs are up for sale.

3Accessorize the NFL way

One way to make any look feminine and fashion-forward is to add the right kind of accessories. Jewelry and heels are always awesome, but those aren't the kind of accessories we're referring to. And say you're not the type to smear on face paint and pull up orange tube socks. No need to fret -- that's not what we're referring to either -- although we fully support such behavior.

Pair a plain t-shirt and pair of jeans with a hat of the team you want to win. Or, bring a team-spirited koozie to a tailgate. There are plenty of ways to get creative with NFL gloves, headbands, tote bags and more.

4Color-coordinate

Don't want to splurge on an expensive jersey or other NFL paraphernalia? You'll fit right in with other fans if you wear your favorite team's signature colors.

If it's the Eagles you love, pull your go-to green dress or tank out of the closet. If you can't get enough of the Cowboys, your staple navy cardigan has just become much more than that. You can rarely go wrong with looks you already love.
