Sparkling, white eyesErase any redness in your eyes with an eye-brightener such as Visine Maximum Redness Relief Formula because, "The best makeup in the world can't hide red, tired looking eyes — and that look is never in," says Roncal.
Eye linerLine the inner rims of your eyes with black waterproof eyeliner for instant glamour. "Whether you're shaking your booty on the dance floor or splashing around in the pool or ocean, you can feel confident knowing your makeup is not going to come off until you decide to take it off," Roncal says.
Flawless skinFirst, apply primer. The primer will keep your makeup in place. "I know that in the summer you might be thinking, 'Why should I bother using an extra layer of product?'" she says. "But trust me it really helps your makeup last longer. And, don't worry, it won't make your skin oily, nor will it clog your pores. In fact, it's better for your skin because it creates a barrier between your skin and your makeup."
After that, apply your concealer and foundation — ideally, choose water-resistant formulas and apply sparingly. Roncal suggests ditching translucent powder in favor of a setting powder. Why? "It does everything a traditional translucent powder is supposed to do, meaning it sets your makeup and it mattifies shine, but it doesn't have any of the nasty side effects."
Get a (faux) glowIt's summer, so don't forget the bronzer, such as Roncal's bronzer called Mally Beauty Believable Bronzer, or your favorite bronzing powder. "I like to use bronzer as I would a contour powder, so in the hollows of the cheeks, around the perimeter of the face, a little on the temples, and then you can sweep a little across the bridge of the nose and across the forehead," Roncal says.
"Finish off with that great blush on the apples of the cheeks and touch a little right above the arch of the brow for a great natural looking flush! Whatever bronzer you choose to use, make sure it's matte, not shimmery, or else you'll look like a shiny orange disco ball."
Think luscious lashes"Mascara can make a world of difference," Roncal says. "It will give you long, luscious lashes and will make you look wide-awake and gorgeous. And if you're in a pinch, you can use a little bit of the mascara on a skinny brush as a substitute eyeliner. Just bury deep in the lash line and smudge gently for thicker looking lashes and great definition." Make sure to choose waterproof formulas so hot tubs and pools don't become your enemy.
Don't forget the sexy poutRoncal recommends starting with a liner that matches your lip tone, not your lip gloss or lipstick, then following with a stain or lipstick and finishing with a gloss on top. Steer clear of matte, dark lip colors which will age you. "Feel free to line slightly outside the natural lip line for fuller looking lips," she says. "The best, most universally flattering lip color is a pinky peach like Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Mally's Baby!"
