Out On The Town

We hit the streets to see what YOU were wearing this summer. Oh-so-stylish fashionistas from Hartford, Connecticut, Walla Walla, Washington, San Antonio, Texas and as far away as Sydney, Australia posed to show off their travel-friendly picks. A few pieces struck us as being must-haves for a gal on the go. We'll show you where to get these essentials for your summer packing list so they can go straight from the store into your suitcase.

You can never go wrong with denim. And if you're traveling somewhere warm (which this summer we hope that you are), it's always good to have a pair of shorts in tow. The material has withstood the test of time for a reason. It's comfortable, durable, fashionable and goes with everything. High-waisted shorts are a perfect way to make a bold fashion statement. Extra pockets are always a plus.

Pretty lady

If you're into longer shorts, these 1969 high-rise pleat shorts from The Gap are just your cup of tea. They are conservative and when worn with a bow-tie belt, look extra lady-like. Wear these dainty shorts with small heels or sky-high wedges to pull off a trendy look.

Hipster chic

Look ultra-chic in these Dark Wash High-Waist Jean Cuff Shorts from American Apparel. These simple, yet stylish shorts are a summer staple with their high waist and dark denim color. The shorts are versatile enough to wear with a bright tank top or crisp button-up.

Daring denim

Have fun in these Distressed boyfit midi shorts from American Eagle. They are rough around the edges and carry the mystical essence of spending summer on the lake. Take these shorts for a wild spin and pair them with gladiator sandals and peasant top.

Liking it long

If you like bermuda shorts, then these Selvedge denim shorts from J Crew will suit you perfectly. They are not as long as bermuda shorts, but they are longer than normal shorts and have a high waist. These shorts are ideal for a casual look. Wear them with graphic tee or a relaxed button-up for the ultimate laid-back style.
